I am inspired by the people around me. I always follow protocols and guidelines and thrive to provide excellent patient care.”

A popular inquiry for many, Dr. Hazini also took the time to share her top tips for helping patients get the most out of their Botox® treatments:

#1: Maintain healthy habits and good skin care. It’s important to treat your skin properly after your treatment by applying sunscreen with SPF 30+ every day and using a gentle moisturizer. This will keep your skin protected and hydrated as your Botox settles in.

#2: Avoid blood thinners. You should steer clear of blood-thinning medications like NSAIDS (non-steroidal anti-inflammatories) and other blood-thinners like ginkgo biloba, green tea and ginseng before and after your Botox. Doing so will reduce your risk of bruising and allow your injection sites to heal fast.

#3: Avoid touching or rubbing the injection site. This can cause Botox to spread to neighboring muscles and create undesirable results. Keeping a hands-off approach will also prevent irritation and allow any swelling to subside faster.

#4: Avoid alcohol and caffeine for 24 hours before. Consuming alcohol or caffeine prior to your Botox may thin your blood and interfere with your body’s natural healing process. Avoiding these substances will decrease your risk of bruising and swelling after your treatment.

#5: Refrain from exercise for 24 hours after. Increased blood flow and movement can cause your Botox to migrate to undesirable areas. Waiting at least 24 hours before exercising will help keep Botox in your target areas for longer.

#6: Refrain from wearing makeup for 24 hours after. Applying makeup can interfere with your results, so give your Botox time to settle in and take effect by going makeup-free for at least 24 hours after your treatment.

#7: Schedule regular maintenance treatments. Typically, the effects of Botox diminish after three to four months. Coming in for regular maintenance treatments is a great way to maintain a wrinkle-free appearance for the long term.
