Makeup tips for great skin in photos!

We’ve all been there: you’re enjoying a nice cocktail party with some friends, and although you look great in your dress and heels, you shy away as soon as your camera-happy friend brings out their Nikon.

Wouldn’t it be great if you could just strike a pose and feel confident in front of the camera for a change? We assembled the following five tips to help you feel confident at your next photo shoot.

Lighting is Key. Bad lighting makes skin look sallow! The best light is usually natural light, and sunset is best. Avoid down-cast and fluorescent lighting whenever possible.

All About Angles. Suck in that tummy and roll back those shoulders to avoid a slouchy look. Push your head forward slightly and tilt your chin downward for a simple, relaxed pose.

Skincare. Regular skincare will prevent and treat the blemishes, wrinkles and redness that may have you feeling camera-shy.

Makeup Matters. Invest in a nice foundation and be sure to wear blush. Avoid too much makeup that can take away from your natural beauty.

Blot! Oily skin is unattractive in pictures. Buy oil absorbing papers that blot oil without smudging your makeup.

Never underestimate the power of a new outfit, haircut and manicure to boost your confidence when it’s picture time.

Most importantly, invest in a personalized skincare regimen designed specifically for your skin at AlluraDerm MD Med Spa. We offer free skincare consultations to discuss the right way to treat your skin type and prevent early signs of aging.
