AlluraDerm MD Med Spa uses SkinCeuticals® Dermaplaning for Albuquerque clients who want to revitalize and perfect their skin. Dermaplaning is a non-invasive way to immediately improve the health of the skin without any downtime. It is an excellent addition to any anti-aging skincare regimen.
What Is Dermaplaning?
Dermaplaning is a gentle skin resurfacing treatment utilizing a special patented surgical blade to remove the top layer of skin cells. The exfoliation allows for cell renewal and also allows for better penetration of home and professional skincare products, optimizing their results. The dermaplaning procedure also has the added bonus of temporarily removing light facial hair, or “peach fuzz”.

What Are the Benefits of Dermaplaning?
In addition to reducing acne breakouts, age spots, fine lines and wrinkles, dermaplaning has both immediate and long-term benefits. Dermaplaning:
- Supports healthy collagen levels for firmer skin
- Lightens dark spots
- Improves skin texture and radiance
- Decreases comedones (blackheads, whiteheads) and refines appearance of pore size
- Diminishes fine lines and wrinkles
- Reduces sebum (oil) production
- Reduces acne breakouts
- Revitalizes sensitive skin while decongesting pores
Dermaplaning is a popular, well-tried procedure that is fast and has no downtime/recovery time. Dermaplaning will leave you with soft, smooth, glowing skin in the short-term, and prevent signs of aging over time.
Dermaplaning: A Three-Step Procedure
The dermaplaning procedure is a three-step clinical procedure that combines manual exfoliation, chemical peeling and cryogenic therapy to help reduce fine lines, wrinkles, hyperpigmentation, laxity, dullness and skin imperfections. Dermaplaning is a manual exfoliation technique that safely and efficiently removes vellus hair and surface debris with a patented dermaplaning blade. Chemical peels are optimized solutions formulated for gently resurfacing the skin by removing the outer epidermis and stimulating collagen remodeling, reducing fine lines and wrinkles, hyperpigmentation, texture and skin impurities. Cryogenic therapy is a clinical skin procedure featuring a CO2 “sphere”. This ice sphere is gently applied to the skin immediately after the chemical peel to increase the rate of the skin cell turnover. Cryogenic therapy is anti-inflammatory and anti-bacterial, reducing redness and leaving your skin with a more even tone, smaller pores and radiant glow. It feels great, too! For optimal results, two series of 4 to 6 procedures per year are recommended. Immediate results show improvement as well, as new skin cells reveal a smoother texture and a reduction in acne and fine lines.
