Cheat Sheet: 3 Signs You May Be a CoolSculpting® Candidate
How is your New Year’s resolution holding up? If you’re like a lot of us, chances are good you’ve already broken it! But fear not, because you don’t need a resolution to find a solution, especially when it comes to shaping up.
During winter and early spring, I meet men and women who set out to get fit and lose weight in the new year but wind up frustrated after stubborn fat doesn’t exactly disappear in all the right places. Sometimes, no amount of cardio or sit-ups can do the trick. If only we had a magic wand to take away fat where we don’t want it and keep it where we do! Wait a minute — there is one. Only, it’s not a wand, but a CoolSculpting applicator.
CoolSculpting is a non-surgical treatment that uses a process known as Cryolipolysis to freeze, break down, and ultimately eliminate fat cells. Harvard scientists developed the process, and the folks at the FDA gave it the green light for safety. To date, plastic surgeons have performed more than 1 million CoolSculpting treatments worldwide, according to manufacturer ZELTIQ®. My favorite part? There’s little to no downtime after your treatment, making it perfect for those with busy lifestyles.
If you have wondered whether CoolSculpting is right for you, read my cheat sheet of signs that may make you a good candidate:
- You choose clothing to hide your figure, not flatter it. Men and women who visit my medical spa in Albuquerque for CoolSculpting treatments often report feeling frustrated when choosing clothing because of stubborn fat around their midsections, arms, thighs, and backs. Shopping should be fun! But, when options are limited, it’s just not. You won’t need a whole new wardrobe after CoolSculpting, though. Instead, you’ll find that many of your older clothes just seem to fit better and look more flattering than ever.
- You have one of more problem areas that seem impossible to improve. Whether it be back fat, a muffin top, or saddlebags, most people have at least one area with which they have always struggled. Excess fat is not just frustrating from an aesthetic perspective, but it can also be physically uncomfortable and embarrassing for many people. For example, a back “roll” can make it tough to find a bra that fits.
- You have tried all of the fad diets. Whole30®. Cavemen. Low-carb. No matter the strategy, there is some fat that is just tough to tackle. Sometimes it is necessary to take additional steps outside of the kitchen. Keep in mind, though, that CoolSculpting is not a substitute for a healthy diet and exercise routine. Think of it more as a finishing touch. You’ll want to be as close as possible to your goal weight. After treatment, a nutritious diet and regular workout routine will help to maintain your results.
